David identifies as a non-binary individual, and has been exploring a much larger range of gender expression than the environment they grew up in would allow. It has always been their dream to wear a fabulous dress to their wedding day, and at this point, there doesn't seem to be any reason not to.
This might seem strange or unusual to you if you were born before the turn of the millennium. If you're curious about the meaning of non-binary or the distinction between gender expression, identity, and attraction there are many helpful videos on YouTube (e.g. the one below).

Since there are no established non-binary pronouns in every language, we've decided it's easier for this event also to use they/them when referring to David in all languages. We kindly ask you to respect this.
